Welcome to a little piece of me and something I’ve dreamt of doing since I started out on my physio career years ago.
I pictured a beautiful old cottage, with a gorgeous garden at the front and stone steps that led you through an abundance of fruit trees, veggies, herbs and flowers to the front door. My home, as well as the place I treated clients from, taught classes from and educated others from.
At that point I wanted to be a Physiotherapist and an Ayurvedic practitioner (watch this space..). I wanted to trade my services with others in my community with whatever they had to spare from their gardens or with whatever skill set/produce they had. I wanted to be a part of and grow a community where we became family and helped each other out with what we had to offer, rather than reaching out to people/big companies I didn’t know.
I may not have my beautiful cottage or abundant garden (yet) but I am ready to start growing my community. In a time where a lot of people have lost their place of work, I thought it as good a time as any to grow a group of individuals who are happy to swap their services with each other instead of (or, in addition to) money.

Head to the Service Swap Community page and submit your information to join the members page. Browse the other services on offer and if there is someone you’d like to trade with, contact them and see if they’d be interested! It’s that simple!

Absolutely anyone! You don’t have to be a qualified anything or have a business to be able to trade services with others. You can use whatever skills you may have. This could be your skill as a tradie, but could also be your ability to clean houses, offer babysitting services, cook a mean curry or weed gardens! Never assume that people don’t want what you have to offer - something you take for granted being able to do may be a service or skill that your neighbour wishes they had.

Kind of, but no. When you fill out the Members form, it asks for your general location, which is included in the information displayed on the Members Page. So you can pick services based on the area you’re in. As our community grows, I will make this more specific by creating groups of services by area.

Currently, No! So join up quickly. If it grows to the point where it requires a lot of management on my end, then I may incur a small members fee, but this will always be low in order to avoid exclusion.
